The bonus tracks add to "Whistle Rymes" the do not, I repete, lessen this great record. Even though "WHISTLE RYMES' is much different from "SMASH YOUR HEAD AGAINST THE WALL" and don't forget that one is great. This is John's finest moment, it's a for real FIVE STAR release, thia one has always sounded great and now it's gotten better/5(19).

This time out John based the songs more around the piano and not the 'Who-Like' power chords of "Smash". The production shows much more clarity and a much wider scope than the first record. And the writing had grown by leaps & bounds Having said that; "Whistle Rymes" still rocks a bunch, and it's John's best record/5(20).
